How the build went
Use these notes with the video. Repeated chapter links start at the relevant section, not at each individual action.
Watch the full diffuser section first
The backlight section starts at 02:14. I separated the module and LCD, following the maker’s tutorial for the difficult reassembly. The case screws and loose components need a clean, organised workspace.
Watch from 02:14 ↗Keep the LCD and connector aligned
The thin zebra connector carries the display contacts. I had to reseat it when the display came back garbled. The maker warns that forcing an LCD that will not sit flat can crack it. Stop if anything is obstructed.
Watch from 02:14 ↗Check the spreader and backing
This build used a spreader with backing. The current maker also says both pieces are required, and lists F-94W module 1071. Current versions have extra restrictions, so follow the instructions for the version you actually receive.
Watch from 02:14 ↗Test the display before finishing
Check all display segments and the backlight before closing the case. An AC reset alone did not cure my contact issue. Repeated pressure on the LCD is not a substitute for correct alignment.
Watch from 02:14 ↗Keep the styling changes separate
The yellow lens filter starts at 11:04, followed by the protector and striped NATO. These are separate changes. The finished wrist photo includes them and does not prove the diffuser alone gives a yellow display.

Where it can get awkward
The display is garbled or missing segments
In my sample, an AC reset did not resolve everything. Reseating the LCD and zebra connector did. Revisit the maker’s alignment instructions, and stop if you cannot handle the connector safely.
The LCD will not sit flat
Do not press it into place. The current maker warns about cracked LCDs. Check the spreader version, backing and any obstruction using the maker’s tutorial.
Which current version should I choose?
The maker lists F-94W module 1071, but versions differ. V2 YDR is restricted to specified gold-display watches. V2 Thin is for certain custom LCDs. The current V2 is not for oil-filled watches. Confirm your exact configuration with the maker.
Tools to check first
The video shows screwdrivers, a module pad, cross-lock tweezers and finger cots. Gasket grease and a blower also appear in the wider build. These tool links are examples, not a complete module-repair kit.

Before wearing it
- Check all display segments, buttons and the light before closing the case.
- Keep dust away from the lens and display. Do not treat gasket grease as a water-resistance test.
- If water resistance matters, arrange a professional seal check and pressure test.

Current seller status: The maker currently lists the F-94W’s 1071 module. I checked the version notes on 12 October 2026, but they don’t identify the exact spreader version in my original video.

External references were checked on 12 October 2026. I’ve labelled the maker’s current guidance separately from what I tried myself. I haven’t pressure-tested these modified watches.
