Match the Duro with a Marlin bracelet

I tried a black and silver NATO and a metal bracelet with a Marlin clasp on my Casio Duro MDV-106.

My verdict

The bracelet is the simpler part of this build to explore. The video also contains a separate lens replacement.

It may not suit you if: You want a lightweight strap or have not confirmed the bracelet's fit for your exact model.

I fitted this bracelet to my MDV-106 after a week with the watch. That week was the watch review, not a long-term bracelet test.

How the build went

Use these notes with the video. Repeated chapter links start at the relevant section, not at each individual action.

  1. Start at the strap comparison

The relevant chapter begins at 09:51. I compared a black and silver NATO with a Marlin-clasp bracelet on my MDV-106. The earlier lens work is a separate, more involved job.

  2. Confirm the end-link fit

Ask the seller to confirm the exact MDV-106 fit before ordering. This installation does not establish fit on the smaller MDV-10 or other Duro variants. Check the end links seat properly before wearing it.

  3. Size using the bracelet’s pin system

The bracelet in the video uses push-out sizing pins. I planned to remove links from both sides. That is not a universal link count for every wrist. Check the arrows and instructions for the bracelet you receive.

  4. Check the clasp and final fit

The demonstrated clasp has a button release and a safety closure. Check both work and that the bracelet sits securely without pinching. I show the finished options from 11:55.

Where it can get awkward

A sizing pin will not move

Stop and confirm the direction and pin type for your exact bracelet. A push-out sizing pin is different from a spring bar. Do not keep tapping without a supported, aligned link.

The end link leaves a gap or will not seat

Check with the seller before forcing it. The demonstrated MDV-106 installation does not prove compatibility with every Duro case.

The bracelet feels too heavy

The NATO shown in the same chapter is an alternative. This guide does not assign a measured weight or long-term comfort score to either option.

Tools to check first

A suitable supported pin-removal setup is needed for the bracelet’s sizing pins. A spring-bar tool may be needed for fitting. Check your existing tools and the bracelet kit before ordering more.

Before wearing it

  • Check the spring bars and end links are seated.
  • Check every resized link pin is secure according to the bracelet instructions.
  • Close and check both the main clasp and safety closure before wearing it out.

Current seller status: The historical route is for the Marlin bracelet. Current end-link variant, included tools and stock are not independently verified. Ask for MDV-106 fit explicitly.
